ENHANCING CONNECTIONS AND DEVELOPING AIR TRANSPORTATION BETWEEN VIETNAM AND HONG KONG

On the morning of August 1, at the Government Office, Vietnam Airlines officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation aimed at connecting and developing air transportation between the Vietnam Airlines Corporation and the Hong Kong International Airport Authority (HKIA) in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Mr. John Lee Ka-Chiu - Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

This marks an important milestone in cooperation, contributing to the promotion of economic, trade, and investment relations between Vietnam and Hong Kong. Accordingly, both parties have made several commitments in their efforts to enhance connectivity and develop air transport:

  • Collaborate to open new flight routes, increase frequency, and supplement capacity to boost trade and tourism.

  • Enhance operational quality and services to maximize benefits for both sides. Cooperate in sharing practical experiences, new initiatives, and advanced technologies to optimize operational efficiency.

  • Promote sustainable development in the aviation sector through solutions such as optimizing fuel efficiency, minimizing waste, and encouraging the use of renewable energy.

  • Develop high-quality human resources in areas such as air transport management, aviation security, crisis management, air traffic control, pilot training, and aircraft engineering.

This MoU promises to serve as a gateway to deepen connections in the aviation industry between Vietnam and Hong Kong. Let’s look forward to the opportunities for exploring and experiencing expanded and upgraded services on flights connecting Vietnam and Hong Kong with Vietnam Airlines!
